After loading in with cheats enabled, players can turn off fire spread by typing or copying and pasting /gamerule doFireTick false into chat and hitting enter.

Yep this’ll work but there is one teensy little problem, that rule stops fires from spreading but it also stops them from burning out, and doesn’t stop new fires from starting! So with doFireTick false, when lava or lightning start fires they’ll just keep going FOREVER and never actually burn anything or go out!
